Introduction

This website is the professional portfolio of Mehboob Khan. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use the website and how it is handled.

Information you provide

If you contact me through the contact form or by email, you may provide information such as:

  • a budget range (optional)
  • details about your project or enquiry
  • any other information you choose to include in your message

This information is used to respond to your enquiry and to communicate with you about potential projects, professional opportunities or other legitimate correspondence.

How contact form messages are handled

Messages sent through the contact form are stored in this website’s database, which only I can access, and a copy is sent to my email inbox (mhdmehboobkhan@gmail.com, provided by Google). That email may be delivered through an email delivery service that sends it on my behalf.

To protect the form from spam, it uses a hidden field and a simple timing check, plus Google reCAPTCHA v3. reCAPTCHA is only loaded once you start using the contact form; it then collects information such as your IP address, browser and device details and how you interact with the page, and may set cookies, so that Google can estimate whether the form is being used by a person. This information is processed by Google under the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. No third-party form service is used.

Information you submit is only used to:

  • respond to your enquiry
  • discuss the services you have asked about
  • communicate about professional opportunities
  • keep necessary business correspondence

Your personal information is not sold, rented or shared for marketing purposes. It is only shared with the service providers that help run this website, as described below.

Automatically collected information

Like most websites, the web server that hosts this site may automatically record basic technical information when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, the referring page, the pages visited and the date and time of the visit. These server logs are used for security and to keep the website running properly.

This website does not use analytics tools, advertising or marketing pixels, or any other tracking technology.

Cookies

This website itself does not set cookies for visitors. If you use the contact form, Google reCAPTCHA (see above) may set cookies needed for spam protection. WordPress, the system the site runs on, only sets cookies for the site owner when logged in to manage the website. No analytics or advertising cookies are used.

Apart from Google reCAPTCHA when you use the contact form, all fonts, images and scripts are currently served from this website itself; pages do not load content from third-party services such as font providers, video platforms, maps or social media embeds. If that changes, this policy will be updated.

Third-party services and external links

To run this website I rely on a small number of trusted service providers, such as website hosting, email delivery and spam protection, and I may use other providers when needed. They only process information on my behalf, for the purpose of providing their service, and under their own privacy and security commitments. Some of them may process information outside the UK; where they do, I rely on their standard safeguards for international data transfers. If a new service changes how your information is handled, this policy will be updated.

The website links to external websites and professional platforms such as LinkedIn, GitHub and the websites of projects and clients I have worked with. These links simply take you to those websites; nothing is shared with them when this website loads.

External websites operate under their own privacy policies and practices, and Mehboob Khan is not responsible for their content or how they handle your information. Please review their privacy policies when you visit them.

Data retention

Enquiry information may be kept for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry, maintain relevant business records, or meet legal obligations. You can ask for your messages to be deleted at any time (see “Your rights” below).

Data security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect the information you provide. However, no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Your rights

Depending on applicable data-protection law, including the UK GDPR, you may have the right to request access to the personal information held about you, and to ask for it to be corrected, deleted or restricted, or to object to its use.
